Data Mining is the current trend

After working with the development of basic BI solutions in recent years, many companies are ready to take the next step.

Data Mining is the current trend.
The Data Mining discipline is expanding
In the past, Data Mining was primarily used to predict customer behaviour, carry out trend analysis, basket case-analysis and customer segmentation. But the discipline covers far more than this.

Now Data Mining also covers data input in BI solutions, particularly in relation to the cleaning and harmonisation of data.

The maturity process
Alterate is experiencing a significant increase in the demand for Data Mining solutions, an increase which consultant Stephan Stoltze ascribes to increased maturity in companies. "After focusing in recent years on standard reporting and OLAP analysis, companies now have the maturity to get even more out of their data."

He continues:
"Previous analyses required high data quality, and companies now want to exploit this level of sophistication to gain even greater knowledge about areas such as customer behaviour and price development."
