It is a matter of course that an Alterate consultant has a broad technical grounding. So broad, in fact, that one might be tempted to say independent of particular development and execution platforms. It is also a matter of course that an Alterate consultant has a detailed technical insight into at least one development platform.

However, it is not enough for the consultant just to be a competent developer. 

An Alterate consultant must also have detailed insight into the execution platform and the automatic procedures covering, for example, build, change and deploy.

Alterate is an independent consultancy company, as we are not bound by any particular suppliers or other third parties.

We often work with Microsoft tools on projects for our clients.

We have therefore chosen to have ourselves certified as a Microsoft partner in order to ensure easy access to Microsoft software and infrastructure.

We work on integration across platforms and have extensive experience with SOA, distributed systems and communication in general. An Alterate consultant is equipped to give the client objective guidance as regards choice of technology.

At Alterate we do not suffer from the well-known anti-pattern “Not Invented Here”.

We are very aware of what is happening in the open source world, and often incorporate open source components and implemented patterns for our clients. 

Why invent something that has already been tried and tested and cannot be made much better?

If you hire an Alterate consultant, you will also gain a good knowledge of third party components that can meet a range of requirements, both front-end and back-end, and which in the specific instance would not  be worth developing all over again.
